I know there are plenty of articles about the challenges of working as part of an international team, but it is a topic that is affecting more of us each day. Not only are we working on products that must appeal to customers on all corners of the globe, but we are also working in teams that are often separated by distance. I myself am a UX designer and when working on projects with international clients, being able to share details of a project online is invaluable. In my current project, I am using an online prototyping tool, which can be used to create a draft of both websites and mobile apps. The prototypes I create can be easily changed based on my client’s feedback. This saves a lot of money and time, because I can detect mistakes in the interface design before they’re realized in the final product. This is one big advantage of a prototyping tool.
An online prototyping tool allows you to work collaborative without installing any software or browser plug-ins. This means wherever the members of your team are based on the world, they can work simultaneously on the prototype. They only have to be connected with the internet. This means you can discuss the wireframe and edit it together. When the end product is supposed to be released on different continents, it’s a good idea to talk about conditional cultural design patterns. With this method, you can avoid relying on your own cultural background and make a product that suits customers of another culture.
